Author Guidelines

 

ASTACITA: Journal of Bureaucracy and Public Policy welcomes original and high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in public administration, bureaucracy, and public policy. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. Types of Manuscripts

ASTACITA accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles: Original empirical or theoretical studies.

  • Conceptual Papers: Critical analyses or development of new frameworks or perspectives.

  • Policy Analysis Papers: In-depth analyses of public policies, reforms, or governance practices.

  • Review Articles: Systematic or critical reviews of relevant literature.

  • Book Reviews: Reviews of recent publications relevant to the journal’s scope.

2. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and scholarly English. Authors are responsible for ensuring grammatical accuracy and clarity prior to submission.

3. Manuscript Length

  • Research and conceptual articles: 6,000–8,000 words, including references.

  • Policy analysis and review articles: 5,000–7,000 words.

  • Book reviews: 1,000–1,500 words.

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally be organized as follows:

  • Title

  • Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)

  • Abstract (150–250 words)

  • Keywords (3–5 words)

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (if applicable)

  • Methodology (if applicable)

  • Results / Findings

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgements (if any)

  • References

5. Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1 line spacing.

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.

  • Pages should be numbered consecutively.

6. Citation and References

ASTACITA follows the APA (7th edition) referencing style. All in-text citations must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

7. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and titled clearly.

  • Each table or figure should be cited in the text.

  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material.

8. Ethical Considerations

Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics policy. Research involving human subjects should clearly state ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.

9. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions should be anonymized to support the double-blind peer review process (author identities removed from the main manuscript).

10. Peer Review and Decision

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review. Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The editor’s decision is final.

11. Article Processing Charges

ASTACITA does not charge any submission or article processing fees.

12. Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright of their work. By submitting to ASTACITA, authors agree to publish their articles under the journal’s open access policy and Creative Commons licensing.
